- “Online Consultation” means a medical assessment conducted remotely using questionnaires, secure messaging, telephone or video consultation.
- “Doctor” means a medical practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council.

4. Eligibility and registration

You must not register or submit consultations on behalf of any other person unless you are their legal guardian and the service expressly permits this.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and must not share them with third parties.
5. Accuracy of information
You confirm that all information provided by you is true, accurate, complete and not misleading.
Clinical decisions are based on the information you provide. We are not responsible for any loss, harm or adverse outcome resulting from incorrect, incomplete or dishonest information supplied by you.
6. Online medical consultations
Online consultations are intended to support access to healthcare where clinically appropriate. They do not replace your GP or in‑person care.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- not all conditions are suitable for online treatment
- doctors may recommend face‑to‑face care or referral
- doctors may decline to issue a prescription if not clinically appropriate
Prescriptions are issued solely at the doctor’s discretion, and no consultation guarantees that a prescription will be issued.
7. Medication and treatment responsibilities
Where treatment or medication is provided, you agree to:
- inform the doctor promptly of any side effects or adverse reactions
- inform your GP or other relevant healthcare providers of treatment received
- follow medical advice provided by the doctor and dispensing pharmacist
- read all patient information leaflets supplied with any medication
We are not liable for harm arising from failure to follow medical or pharmaceutical advice or to inform other healthcare professionals of treatment received.
Medicines prescribed are for your personal use only and must not be shared with others.
8. Consent and data sharing
You consent to your personal and health information being:
- accessed by authorised MyDoctor staff
- shared securely with a doctor providing your consultation
- exchanged electronically where necessary for care delivery
This information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable law.
9. Service availability and technology
Online consultations rely on third‑party networks and technology. While we aim to review consultations promptly, we cannot guarantee:
- immediate delivery of consultation data
- specific response times
- uninterrupted technical availability
10. Payments
You are responsible for providing valid payment details and confirm you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
- prices are clearly displayed on the website
- prices include applicable postage where stated
- payment is taken in full at the time of purchase
11. Refund Policy
a) Online video consultations
- Appointments cancelled or rescheduled more than 24 hours in advance: no charge
- Cancellations within 24 hours of appointment time: full charge applies
- Refunds (where applicable) are processed to the original payment method within 1–10 working days
b) Online prescription services
- Refund requests must be made within 3 hours of purchase (or the next working day if purchased outside operating hours)
- No refunds are permitted once a prescription has been issued
- If treatment is deemed medically unsuitable, a full refund or safe alternative will be offered
No refund will be made where you fail to provide required medical information within the timeframe requested.
12. Acceptable patient behaviour
We expect all users to treat our medical and support staff with dignity and respect.
Unacceptable behaviour includes:
- abusive, threatening or aggressive language
- unreasonable or excessive contact
- misuse of services
Where behaviour is unacceptable, we may suspend or terminate access to our services.
13. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties relating to website content outside formal consultations.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland.
